Ryanna McMillen, LE

Ryanna has worked in the Laser Esthetics industry for more than 12 years. She is extremely dedicated and passionate about her career and clients. For this reason, she continues to work on advancing her skills with continued education and training, continually taking classes to stay on top of the latest information and technology of this growing multi-billion dollar industry. It is her mission to bring the best state of the art technology and advances in aesthetic medicine to her clients.

Brooke Thayer, RN

Brooke is a Registered Nurse with over 14 years of experience. She received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing in 2003 from Linfield College-School of Nursing, in Portland, Oregon. She is the lead Injector as well as an Educator for the Institute's Injectable training course. She also teaches a Platelet Rich Plasma course for Advanced Aesthetics Education Group in the Pacific Northwest. It is her mission to provide you with the best customer experience possible whether that be in the treatment room or classroom.

Brittany Lockwood, MA

Brittany has been an educator for various Medical Esthetics training courses in both Oregon and Idaho for over 3 years. She is a professionally trained Medical Assistant with a passion for education, taking advantage of every learning opportunity in the industry to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements with technology and protocol. Using her love of research, she contributed to the development of the curriculum for Oregon’s new 210 Hour Course. Brittany is the primary educator for the Advance Aesthetics Education Group’s CE Medical Micro Needling seminars offering opportunities for continued education and career opportunity across the Pacific Northwest.

Donna Heathman, MA

Donna is a licensed Medical Assistant with more than than 20 years of hospital and clinical experience. Over the years, she took on the role as a preceptor, which sparked a passion for teaching and mentoring students. She moved to Boise in 2013 and began a career teaching the Medical Assisting program for the College of Western Idaho. She has successfully educated nearly 200 students and mentored them down the medical assisting career path.

Donna believes that a good educator is instrumental for a student’s over-all learning experience. She strives to make each class interesting and engaging by incorporating her own personal work experiences in her lectures. Her creative detail in explaining classroom didactic as well as “hands-on” practice makes it possible for everyone to learn and excel. Donna takes great pride in knowing that she has helped each student reach their goals. "The best part of my job is the students"! We are excited to welcome Donna to the NWLI team!

Jennifer Hennessey, PBT

Jennifer Hennessey was born and raised in Idaho, growing up in Boise.  She worked at  Micron Technology for a decade before moving around the country.  After several years, she returned to her home town where she began her career in Phlebotomy.  She attended CWI where she received her certification, later becoming nationally certified through ASCP.  Jennifer worked at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, where she helped precept student phlebotomists during their clinicals.  After several years at St. Al's, she began her career as the lead phlebotomy instructor at the College of Western Idaho.

Jennifer has taught well over 200 students the skill of phlebotomy.  She has taught several classes, including Medical Assistants, Law Enforcement Officers, and Phlebotomy for Healthcare Professionals.  Jennifer has an enthusiasm for teaching and finds huge reward in helping students become successful.

Tammy David

Tammy is from Colorado, and has lived in Boise for the last 30 years.  Tammy worked for College of Western Idaho as an administrative assistant and clinical coordinator for the last 7 years in the Workforce Development Health division.  She was a support for all of the various medical and health related programs, as well as an advocate for the students.

Tammy's vast knowledge regarding health education programs is a valuable asset to Northwest Laser Institute.  She is currently a certified instructor for American Heart Association, and will be teaching CPR classes for our students.  Tammy's focus is on the student.  "I love working to help in student success!" 


Lori Urban

A member of the American Academy of Professional Coders since 2000, Lori is one of the few instructors in Idaho with the Practice Managers Core Curriculum credentials.  A medical biller and coder with 25+ years of experience, Lori finds teaching medical coding a welcoming challenge and states she learns from her students as well.  Lori started her teaching career at Boise State University: Larry G. Selland College of Applied Technology.  The program was transferred to College of Western Idaho in 2009.  

Lori has taught various classes for College of Western Idaho, including: Medical Assistant (front office), Pharmacy Technician, Anatomy and Medical Terminology, and Medical Coding and Billing.  Lori has spent many years working at an Orthopedic Clinic and currently works in the private sector in Family Practice.  She enjoys watching students grow their medical vocabulary and knowledge of coding.

Kim Oxnam

 

Kimberly Oxnam is a Licensed Cosmetologist and Certified Microblading Artist.  With a deep passion of helping people feel more confident and beautiful. Kimberly was born and raised in Idaho where she has been a Licensed Cosmetologist for over 12 years. Being a cosmetologist she has always loved shaping and waxing eyebrows.  In June 2016 she learned the new skill of microblading in an immersive hands on course.  Then she continued with two one-on-one trainings with master microblade artists.  Since then she has taken an 8-hour permanent makeup pigment color course and several other webinars to perfect her skill.  She loves teaching and helping other microblade artists learn the correct way to microblade and feel confident on their journey as an artist.
